Pike Days & Christian’s

Monday, May 30th, 2005

Saturday May 21st was Shot:30‘s first day back in quite a while. We have only had one other show with new singer Mike Withers and that was only a 1/2 hour opening set for Evolution at Nikolzakes. So this day was our first real test. We were starting the day with a 2 hour set in Scenery Hill for Pike Days, and ending the day with a 1 hour opener for Blacksmith at Christian’s in Finnleyville.

The band decided to meet at Rocky’s at 10 am to load equipment and take off for Pike Days. We weren’t on until 2 but since JJ didn’t have a PA for the day, we offered ours out to Blacksmith since we were on right after them and were going to see them anyway.

The day did not get off to a good start. I was a little late getting to Rock’s because I got stuck behind the damn wagon train. The train is a wonderful thing to watch from the side of the road if you have nothing better to do. But when you are trying to get somewhere and are watching the train from the ass end it is no longer enjoyable. I finally get to Rock’s and meet up with Bill and the three of us start getting the gear together. I

My First Post

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

Welcome to the tonedef blog. This is my first entry so it will be short and sweet.

I’ll be adding blogs for Shot:30 and a few members of the Shot:30 family. Since I’m doing the work on it, I get to be first. Keep an eye out for a main Shot:30 blog (probably maintained by Band Mom), a Mike Withers (vocals/guitar) blog, a Bill Wright (drums) blog, and maybe a Jim Keyser (bass) blog. One of these days we’ll bring Rocky into the 1990s and get him hooked up to that thar Internet thingy.

Also since I just set up this blog software, the format may be changing rather often as I experiment with the skins and themes.

Finally, I guess I’ll tell you a little about myself. I’m the sound guy you see at the Shot:30 shows who sometimes gets up and sings a bit. Mrs. Sound Guy (AKA Band Mom), is the Shot:30 booking manager and web designer. Well that’s enough for now, its time to go tuck in the 2 little ones.

Stay tuned for more riviting entries as I get used to this software.
