Saturday Band Mom and Pooh had another busy day at the hotel. I slept in, but eventually got up and moving. Around 2 I took Band Mom and Pooh to work and then headed to Wal Mart to pick up something for Band Mom for work. I dropped it off then headed home. When I got home I got Things 1 & 2 ready and we headed out. We met up with my folks at Sam’s Club and I left the girls with my folks for the night. I then headed home.
I thought I was going to be valet parking tonight so I had thrown some clothes in the wash earlier in the day. When I got home I threw them in the dryer. Then I shaved. I was planning on watching some DVR while waiting and eventually getting to the hotel around 5. Then I got a call from Band Mom asking me to get there as soon as I could. So I jumped in the shower hoping my clothes would be dry by the time I got out.
They were and I got dressed and headed out. I made a quick stop and picked some flowers up for Band Mom (It was Valentine’s Day after all…) And I got to the hotel a little before 4:30. As I walked in, I ran into the owner of the hotel, and he thanked me for making the liquor run…He could tell by the look on my face that I had no idea what he was talking about and chuckled and said that he guessed my wife hadn’t let me know she volunteered me for that yet. I then went and found Band Mom.
Well I didn’t have to valet, but I did need to make a beer/liquor run for the bar. So I jumped back in the car and headed to the beer distributor. I got what they needed their and then stopped and filled up the van’s tank. Then off to the State Store. I picked up everything that they needed and then headed back to the hotel.
The dining room was crushed tonight. They had the 5 course in the Oval Room, and a 3 course in the Pioneer. Every table was full. The staff was running frantic to keep up. They did it, but wow…The bar was also pretty packed. I sat at the bar waiting for the dinners to be over to hang out with Band Mom and get some grub. I didn’t want to start drinking that early, because I figured I’d be smacked by the time Band Mom got to spend any time in the bar with me. So I sat and watched TV and chatted with Cowboy for a few hours.
Finally the kitchen was done and Band Mom got to sit down. We decided that I would make a McDonald’s run for us, Cowboy and the bartender. I’m glad I wasn’t drinkin’. So I ran to McDonald’s and then back. We ate and I started DJing.
The rest of the night was spent just hanging at the bar and drinking. We closed and cleaned up at closing time and then headed home.
What a Valentine’s Day…
